Our Founders, Floyd Hammer and Kathy Hamilton, on the Ground in Tanzania

The Outreach Program founders, Floyd Hammer and Kathy Hamilton, are currently on the ground in Tanzania, the place where the idea for Outreach began in 2003. Follow along the photos below as the captions tell the story of their current trip.

If there is no food, these students won't go to school. Food is an essential part of helping lift people out of poverty through education.

Over 70% of the population of Tanzania is younger than 30-years-old. AIDS wiped out millions of parents and children struggle to eat and get an education. We help over 800 children in this Center, and another 200 in Manyoni. (we could do a thousand more with more resources)

We help over 800 children in this Center, and another 200 in Manyoni (we could feed and provide school uniforms for a thousand more children if we had more resources).  Donate here.

After the children eat, they are required to help clean the facility and they do such a great job that it sparkles!

These children are anxiously awaiting the only meal they will get that day. They are having fun with balloon animals that Kathy taught them how to tie!

This is a secure place for children to play. Many of these kids might have a place to stay at night in a shack somewhere, but many of them don't have any place to play during the day that is safe. A donor in the U.S. made this equipment possible.

Nkungi village where it all started! It was here that Floyd and Kathy were captured by the heart of Tanzania. And we have an exciting research-for-business-development goat project to empower women in rural Tanzania that is in the works! Stay tuned for updates.

It is no small wonder that Floyd and Kathy were invited to the White House by President Obama and President H.W. George Bush where they were presented with the 5,000th Points of Light award!
