The IAB inspection process is focused on the five following categories: Operational Methods and Personnel Practices, Maintenance for Food Safety, Cleaning Practices, Integrated Pest Management and Adequacy of Prerequisite Programs and Food Safety Programs. The warehousing, packaging, and fulfillment of packaged food products required focused attention to detail. To maintain food safety and quality, it is important that manufacturers are adhering to the best practices in the industry. AIB certification is a recognized method of ensuring suppliers are committed to established protocols related to processing food products through onsite AIB inspection and certification. “Outreach began packaging meals in 2004 and has packaged over 600,000,000 meals through the dedication and hard work of thousands of volunteers and associated packaging organizations”, noted Floyd Hammer, Executive Chairman, and Co-Founder. “In 2010, Outreach led the industry in developing packaging protocols ensuring food packaged by volunteers met established food safety standards. The Outreach Program was founded by Floyd Hammer and Kathy Hamilton of Union Iowa. A non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, Outreach has helped to package more than 600 million meals that have been distributed across the United States and around the world.
