Outreach is pleased to be part of the historic signing by college and university presidents around the world of the President’s Commitment to Food and Nutrition Security at the United Nations in New York City. Over 200 people attended the event.
PUSH- Presidents United to Solve Hunger – is an initiative of Universities Fighting World Hunger based at Auburn University. Outreach is an official partner of UFWH and participates in their summits each year.
The founders of Outreach, Floyd Hammer and Kathy Hamilton, were in attendance at the signing on December 9, 2014, at the United Nations building. Floyd was at the original pre-summit, high-level meeting in Auburn earlier this year where the document was created.
Floyd said, “Outreach understands the necessary engagement of institutions of higher-learning in solving global hunger. We are proud to be a part of UFWH and PUSH because we believe in the solutions they will provide in research and the empowerment of a younger generation who cares deeply about feeding the hungry.”
