The Outreach Program, Leading International Hunger-Fighter Nonprofit, Promotes Rick McNary to Vice President of Strategic Partnerships to Lead Major Global Expansion.

October 31, 2019– Union, IowaThe Outreach Program, a leading international nonprofit, based in Iowa, a leader in the development of programs that address food insecurity here at home and internationally has announced it has promoted Mr. Rick McNary to the position of Vice President of Strategic Partnerships. 

McNary joined Outreach in 2012 and has been instrumental in the growth of Outreach during those years in the U.S. and abroad. Rick brings his extensive background, experience, and presence in the hunger insecurity space. This appointment will provide a focused approach for Outreach to expand its presence and impact in association with existing and new Corporate Partners for which Rick is uniquely qualified.

In addition to serving as the newly appointed Vice President of Strategic Partnerships for The Outreach Program, Rick has served as Treasurer of the Executive Board for the Alliance to End Hunger in Washington, D.C., where he co-chairs the Alliance’s Advocacy Committee. He is also a representative from Kansas for the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition. Throughout his professional career, Rick has excelled in community leadership, teaching others the power of effective teamwork and volunteerism. Rick is a frequent keynote speaker on the topic of world hunger. He is the author of Hunger Bites: Bite Size Stories of Inspiration. 

Rick is an innovator and an advocate in the hunger space, as evidenced by the development of the Kansas Hunger Dialogue model – in partnership with Universities Fighting World Hunger – which gathers top administrators, faculty, and students from Americas Universities and Colleges to collaborate on hunger issues and solutions. Rick is also the 2012 recipient of a National Innovation Award from the Alliance to End Hunger for his Healthy foods/Hunger-Free Community model.

Rick will be traveling to Tanzania, East Africa in November 2019, developing training and videography of the Outreach Water, Food, Medical, and Education programs, which began in 2004. Outreach is a Registered Non-Governmental Organization in the United Republic of Tanzania, where it has focused its international efforts in its four focus areas.
