Opportunity to Fight Hunger in Iowa

Outreach is looking for 9 individuals to make Iowa the 1st Hunger Free State!

Do you have a passion to feed the hungry, help an international nonprofit start the Hunger Free Iowa Initiative, and develop your professional skills and contacts? Then join the award-winning Outreach, Inc., and accomplish your objectives to grow yourself and make the world a better place in which to live.  Outreach’s mission is to provide safe water, food, medical care and education to children and those in need at home and abroad.  The primary activity of Outreach is volunteer-engaged meal packaging events for the hungry.

Individual duties include:

  • Establish student run organizations
  • Increase number of organizations that benefit from Outreach meals
  • Create messaging for newsletters
  • Update social media streams
  • Create connections with corporations, civic groups, churches and schools
  • Make presentations to stakeholders about Outreach
  • Create volunteer training and engagement program
  • Database management
  • Grant writing
  • Develop donor outreach

Available Positions:

–VISTA Leader (individual must have 1 year of VISTA already completed)

–OutreachHunger Free Community Resource Specialist (2 positions available)

–Outreach Hunger Project Communication Specialist

–Outreach Hunger Project Corporate Partner Specialist

–Outreach Hunger Project Database Specialist

–Outreach Hunger Project Education Specialist

–Outreach Hunger Project Resource Development Specialist

–Outreach Hunger Project Volunteer Management Specialist

 

Program Eligibility:

-Must be at least 18
-Must be a U.S. citizen

Program Benefits:
-Upon completion of service you’ll receive a $5645 education award or $1500 cash stipend
-Modest Living Allowance paid biweekly
-Relocation assistance (if qualified)
-Health benefits
-Childcare

Program Requirements:
-Members must commit to 1 year of full time service
-Members may not have any form of employment during service
-Members are responsible for their own housing and transportation(public transportation not an option)
-Members attend pre-service orientation
